Northern Colorado Announces WBB Schedule

GREELEY, Colo. – Home dates with Denver, Boston and North Dakota State, road games with the Air Force Academy, Colorado and Utah State highlight the 2023-24 University of Northern Colorado women's basketball non-conference schedule.
"We are excited to officially announce our non-conference schedule today," Head Coach Kristen Mattio said."
The third season under Mattio tips off against Hastings College at Bank of Colorado Arena Nov. 6. The first road trip of the campaign takes the Bears to South Dakota (Nov. 14) and Omaha (Nov.17). They close the first month of the season with home contests against North Dakota State (Nov. 20), Boston (Nov. 26) and Northern New Mexico (Dec. 3).
"I can't wait to step on the court with our squad this season," Mattio said. "We have a solid blend of NCAA tournament teams, in-state rivals and some new competition that we have not seen before."
UNC embarks on its longest road swing of the year, beginning with Air Force in Colorado Springs (Dec. 9). The Bears travel to Utah State (Dec. 16), before taking on Colorado in Boulder, Colorado (Dec. 21). After the break, UNC lifts the lid on the Big Sky slate at Northern Arizona (Dec. 30).
The non-conference portion of the Bears schedule concludes with two games in the Big Sky–Summit Challenge. UNC opens 2024 at Oral Roberts Jan. 3, before hosting Denver Jan. 6.
"We have put together a schedule that will not only prepare us for Big Sky play and goals of deeper postseason runs, but also a schedule that our fans will really enjoy watching," Mattio said.
UNC opens conference play on the road Dec. 30 at Northern Arizona and begins the home slate with Montana (Jan.11) and Montana State (Jan. 13).
The Bears make their west coast swing at Sacramento State (Jan. 18) and Portland State (Jan. 20). UNC returns home for a two-game homestand versus Eastern Washington (Jan. 25) and Idaho (Jan. 27).
UNC begins February with a four-game road swing, which begins at Idaho State (Feb. 1), before heading to Weber State (Feb. 3), Montana State (Feb. 8), and Montana (Feb. 10).
The Bears visit Idaho (Feb. 22) and Eastern Washington (Feb. 24), before concluding their season with a three-game homestand beginning with Weber State (Feb. 29). UNC hosts Idaho State (March 2) and Northern Arizona (March 4).
"When season tickets go on sale, we encourage all our Bear's fans to reserve their favorite seat for home games today," Mattio said. "We want the Bank of Colorado Arena rockin' this season!"
