BOULDER, Colo. – University of Northern Colorado lifted the lid on 2023 campaign with a 3-0 setback against Colorado at Prentup Field Thursday.

"I'm proud of the way we continued to fight until the final whistle," Head Coach Tim Barrera said.

Senior keeper Kaya Lindberg stopped nine of the 12 shots on goal – two saves off her career high.

"Kaya made some great saves and kept us in the contest," Barrera said.

Limited to one shot in the first half, the Bears mustered four in the final stanza, including a pair on net.

The Buffaloes struck for a pair of markers in the first 26 minutes of action and tacked on another in the final 45 minutes of action.

CU - 12th minute: Phoenix Miranda (1), header from corner kick to bottom left of goal, assisted by Amaya Gonzalez (1).
