TULSA, Okla. – On the final day of competition, Northern Colorado wrestlers Stevo Poulin and Andrew Alirez emerged victorious as Big 12 champions. Poulin captured his first Big 12 title in the 125-pound weight class, while Alirez successfully defended his title in the 141-pound weight class.

This marks the first time in UNC program's history in which it has produced two Big 12 champions, and the first time a wrestler has become a two-time Big 12 champion. UNC was only one of four teams at the Big 12 Wrestling Championship to have multiple wrestlers compete in the final round.

No. 17 Stevo Poulin started off the evening with an 11-4 decision over Missouri's Noah Surtin for his first conference title, while improving to 28-5 on the season.

Reigning 141 champion, and No. 1-ranked Andrew Alirez successfully became UNC's first two-time Big 12 champion, earning an 8-4 decision over Missouri's Allan Hart.

At the conclusion of the conference championships, Northern Colorado finished ninth with 50 points.
