Knecht and Kountz Earn All-Big Sky Honors

FARMINGTON, Utah – On the eve of the conference tournament, the Big Sky Conference announced Friday that Northern Colorado men's basketball seniors Dalton Knecht and Daylen Kountz have earned All-Big Sky Conference accolades.
Knecht led the Big Sky in points per game, averaging 20.1 ppg, was named All-Big Sky Second Team. The Thornton, Colo., native led the Bears in scoring in 17 games this season, and his 20.1 ppg also ranks 25th in the NCAA. He also finished third in the Big Sky for three-point percentage, shooting 38.9% behind the arc.
Kountz was second on the team, averaging 16.9 points per game, and was named All-Big Sky Honorable Mention. The Denver native most recently posted a season-high 27 points and 7 rebounds to help the Bears to an 87-72 win against Idaho State last Monday.
Northern Colorado takes on Portland State tomorrow, March 4, in the opening round of the 2023 Big Sky Men's Basketball Tournament. Tip-off in Boise, Idaho, is set for 8 p.m. (MT) and fans not in attendance can watch on the ESPN+ platform.
