SAN DIEGO, Calif. – University of California at San Diego defeated Northern Colorado 6-2 and 8-0 Sunday afternoon to conclude a three-game series.
In game one the Bears received a strong performance from Craig Kenny. The designated hitter batted 3-for-4 and scored one run.
Caden Wagner finished 1-for-3 and drew one walk while adding an RBI. Zain Zinicola also added an RBI.
Hayden Heinze, Jake King, and James Wright each recorded a hit.
Dylan Smith absorbed the loss. Smith tossed five and two third innings, scattered six hits and allowed four runs (three earned) and one walk while striking out six.
In game two the Bears stranded 10 baserunners.
Bradley Hallock batted 2-for-4, while Heinze, King and Kenny each collected a hit. The Bears also drew five walks.
Zach Herrick was credited with the loss. Herrick threw three innings, allowed six hits and four runs and struck out two batters.
