Byrne Nets 20 in UNC Setback

GREELEY, Colo. – Delaynie Byrne scored a team-high 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the 80-60 setback versus Montana State in Big Sky play Saturday afternoon.
"Give credit to Montana State, they played a great game, and they executed their offensive plan very well," said UNC head women's basketball coach Kristen Mattio. "We found ourselves in a hole early and were left playing catch-up for the rest of the game."
Hannah Simental dropped 15 points on 4-for-11 shooting from the floor. The Pueblo native entered the game ranked first in the conference second overall at the NCAA Division I level in free-throw percentage, went a perfect 5-for-5 at the free-throw line.
Gabi Fields added eight points, Averee Kleinhans helped with seven points, and Lauren Andrew and Sydney Stensgard each chipped in three points.
As a team, the Bears grabbed 28 rebounds and scored 16 points in the paint.
