GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- The Northern Colorado men's golf team completed the Loyola Intercollegiate on Tuesday, Feb. 28, finishing tied for 10th out of 19 teams, with freshman Gage Messingham leading the Bears with a three-under par for the weekend.

UNC started off the tournament in ninth after the first day with a score of 294 (+6), but fell to 15th despite shooting a 293 on the second day. However, the Bears responded in the third round and recorded a four-under (280) on Monday to lift their standing to10th with a overall score of three-over (867).

Messinham was lights on on Monday, shooting 66 on Monday, which was tied for the best score in round three. Ttwo other Bears also shot under par during the final round, Alessio Battista (70) and Jack Castiglia (71), to help improve the team's final standing. Messingham would end the tournament tied for 17th overall.
