Baseball announces $1.5 million fundraising campaign

GREELEY, Colo. -- The University of Northern Colorado Baseball team is excited to announce the Jackson Baseball Field Turf Project! Â
This ambitious project will transform Jackson Field into the D1 baseball field in Colorado, providing our student-athletes with a state-of-the-art facility and inspiring future generations of Bears.Â
After playing 71 years of UNC Baseball on Jackson Field, it's time for a significant renovation. Â
One of the major issues is the harsh Colorado climate. The current grass surface can be difficult to maintain. A turf field would offer many advantages, including:Â
- A safer, more reliable playing surface would reduce the risk of injuries.Â
- Opportunity to practice and play more games at Jackson Field. Â
- Enhance recruiting efforts.Â
- A more aesthetically pleasing field that would be a source of pride for our university and community.Â
The current estimated cost of the project is $1.5 million, which includes adding modernized turf to the entire field. UNC Baseball is asking for your help to make this unprecedented goal a reality. Â
The Bears recently received a $150,000 donation thanks to a passionate baseball alumnus and his family! This momentum is exciting, but help is still needed to reach their goal of transforming Jackson Field into a world-class facility for our student-athletes.Â
