Bears Announce 2024 Baseball Schedule

GREELEY, Colo. – Head Coach Mike Anderson announced the 2024 Northern Colorado Baseball schedule Monday.
The Bears open with 15 straight road games, including four the opening weekend in Ruston, La., against Louisiana Tech Feb. 16-18. The Bulldogs finished 28-31 overall in 2023, with a 15-15 mark in Conference USA play, ranking sixth in the 10-team league.
"This challenging schedule will help build and grow our program in a direction that emphasizes development on and off the field," Anderson said. "A full Division I slate; will provide some tough road games early and prepare us for the Summit League portion of our schedule."
UNC remains in the south for its next three weekends, with trips to Tarleton State (Feb. 23-25) in Stephenville, Texas, followed by a trip to Las Cruces, N.M. for a four-game set against New Mexico State (March 1-4). The Bears conclude the road trip at Georgia, beginning a three-game series March 8.
Tarleton State completed the 2023 season at 26-26 overall, including 10-18 in Western Athletic Conference play, just ahead of New Mexico State's 14-37, 9-21 mark. In the Southeastern Conference, Georgia placed 11th overall and sixth in the East Division, with a record of 11-19 against conference foes and 29-27 in all matchups.
Rounding out the non-conference schedule features two midweek games at Utah March 19-20 and four contests against Air Force. The Utes went 22-32-1 in 2023 and finished last in the Pac-12 at 9-20-1. UNC and the Falcons in Colorado Springs, Colo., April 1 and 30, with Air Force making trips to Greeley, April 9 and 23.
In Summit League play, the Bears face each of the other five squads in a pair of three-game series, with each side hosting the other.
St. Thomas opens the home slate for the Bears March 15-17, with a return trip to Minneapolis, Minn., April 26-28.
The Bears host Omaha March 22-24, before making the trip to Nebraska April 19-21.
A trip to Brookings, S.D. concludes March with a weekend set at South Dakota State March 28-30. That is a Thursday through Saturday series due to Easter Sunday. The Jackrabbits visit Jackson Field May 3-5.
UNC hosts the defending Summit League Champions Oral Roberts April 5-7, with a road series at the Golden Eagles May 10-12.
North Dakota State plays in Greeley April 12-14, with a rematch between the Bears and Bison slated to close the regular season May 16-18 in Fargo, N.D.
Tulsa, Okla., is the site of the 2024 Summit League Championship, with the league's automatic bid for the NCAA tournament on the line. The top four teams earn the right to compete for the tournament title.
Every UNC 2024 home game will be available on The Summit League Network in partnership with Midco Sports Plus.
