GREELEY, Colo. – The University of Northern Colorado women's basketball team returns to the Bank of Colorado Arena on Sunday for a non-conference bout versus Northern New Mexico.
UNC and NNMC
This is the second time the two teams will meet. The last meeting was November 7, 2022, and the Bears defeated the Eagles 91-50. Hannah Simental and Luka Malinka each scored 17 points. The Bears also tied a program record with 15 three-pointers, which has been matched four previous times and most recently in 2017-18 versus Sacramento State.
UNC Athletics and Banner Health to host Baby Race and Teddy Bear Toss
It's time for the Banner Health Baby Race at UNC Women's Basketball!
The contest is simple: contestants crawl from sideline to sideline and whoever crosses the finish line first will win a prize pack from Banner Health and UNC Athletics!
The game is also the annual Teddy Bear Toss Game! UNC Athletics is accepting donations of stuffed animals or cash donations to help bring joy to those in the Northern Colorado community. Bring a stuffed animal to toss on the court during halftime or cash donation and receive a $5 general admission ticket!

Simental scored a game-high 26, as Boston University edged Northern Colorado 63-52.
Delaynie Byrne and Gabi Field each dropped nine points. Byrne added a team-high five rebounds and three steals.
Aniah Hall helped with four points, while Avery Bang and Tena Ikidi each scored two points.
Byrne picks up Big Sky Conference Player of the Week
Byrne was named the Big Sky Conference Player of the Week honor after posting 31 points over two road contests against South Dakota and Omaha.
Byrne recorded her first double-double of the season against South Dakota scoring 15 points with 12 rebounds. The Colorado native followed up that performance with 16 points and another 5 boards in the Bear's victory over Omaha. The Bear went 3-4 from the free throw line.
Simental Named to Big Sky Conference Preseason Team
Simental, a Pueblo, Colorado native has established herself as one of the premier student-athletes in the conference and is coming off a record-breaking 2023-23 campaign.
The Pueblo West High School graduate joined the 1000-point career club and is a pure point-scorer.
Simental led the conference with a.912 free-throw percentage and shot 37.9 percent from three-point range, which was fourth in the conference.
Bears Sign 2 on Early Signing Day
University of Northern Colorado head women's basketball coach Kristen Mattio is pleased to announce the signings of Olivia Loomis-Goltl and Neenah George.
