Thomas Leads Bears Past Eagles 81-60

GREELEY, Colo. – Saint Thomas established a new career high with 14 points at the half, leading Northern Colorado to an 81-60 victory over Northern New Mexico at Bank of Colorado Arena Wednesday.
Thomas finished with career highs in points and rebounds and inked his first career double-double, totaling 20 and 12 respectfully. He added six assists and two steals, pacing the Bears in each category.
His 14 points trailed the entire Eagles team by three as the teams went to the locker room. The Bears hit 14 of 29 from the field, while holding the guest to 6 of 23, building a 39-17 cushion.
UNC hit 21 of 21 from the free-throw line, including 13 of 13 in the second half. The Bears became just the fifth Big Sky Conference team all-time to attempt 21 shots from the charity stripe without a miss.
Despite Eloy Medina keeping the Eagles competitive in the second half, registering 21 of his team's 43 points, the Bears' advantage ballooned to 28 with 13:51 remaining.
Brock Wisne, Marcell McCreary and Dejour Reaves joined Thomas in double-digits. Wisne recorded a career high for the second straight game. He tallied 19, two nights after dropping 13 against Colorado College. McCreary added 14 points, while Reaves netted his second-consecutive game with a dozen points.
