GREELEY, Colo. – Kyra Rabess competed in the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile, representing the Cayman Islands.
"I was excited to see Kyra step up at the Pan American games against an incredibly talented field and race hard," head coach Lisa Ebeling said. "Her last event was the 1500 where she finished in 10th place, solidifying her position as one of the top athletes in the Cayman Islands. It is fun to see our girls representing UNC on the international stage and we are incredibly proud of her efforts."
Specializing in distance swimming, Rabess competed in the 1500m freestyle but added the 100m and 400m to her schedule.
She swam 17:35.4 in the 1500m, collecting a top-ten result. In the 400m, she placed 11th, in a time of 4:28.49, while recording a 59.81 in the 100m.
