Bears Selected to Host NIVC First and Second Rounds
The National Invitational Volleyball Championship selection committee chose the University of Northern Colorado as one of eight schools to host the first and second rounds, tournament officials announced Sunday.
Wyoming (20-9, 9-9 MW) and South Dakota (18-10, 12-4 SL) face off in the first of two matches at Bank of Colorado Arena Thursday, Nov. 30, at 3 p.m. The Bears (17-11, 12-4 BSC) follow at 6 p.m. against Valparaiso (18-14, 10-8 MVC).
The winners of Thursday's contests meet in the second round Friday, Dec. 1 at 6 p.m.
First and second-round games at the eight host sites contested Nov 29,30 Dec 1, and 2. Quarterfinal matches take place Dec. 5-7, with the semifinals being held between Dec. 7-10. The Championship match to be held between Dec. 10-12.

UNC reached the postseason for the third-straight season, after posting a 17-10 regular season mark, including 12-4 in Big Sky competition. The Bears competed in the 2022 and 2021 NCAA Tournament.
It marks the ninth postseason appearance in 18 seasons since moving up to NCAA Division I and joining the Big Sky Conference, including five of the last six campaigns. The Bears' lone appearance in the National Invitational Volleyball Championship followed the 2018 campaign.
The lone absence during the span was after the 2020 season, played in the spring of 2021.
