UNC Downs Weber State on Senior Night

GREELEY, Colo. – Makenzie Harris recorded a double-double in Northern Colorado's 16-25, 25-21, 27-25, 25-19 senior night victory over Weber State Saturday at Bank of Colorado Arena.
The Bears recovered from a slow start to win their seventh-straight match to close out the regular season. After dropping the first set, UNC won the next three games to complete the season sweep of the Wildcats.
In a back-and-forth affair, which featured 23 ties and 15 lead changes, the Bears turned to their defense. UNC accrued a season high of 13 kills, with Cece Huhn factoring in nine of those.
Knotted at 19-19 in game two, the Bears closed with five of the final six points to pull even at one-set apiece at the intermission.
Game three went to extra points when Webster State evened the score at 24-all. After a miscue by UNC pushed the Wildcats in front 25-24, Huhn evened the score and Harris handed her team a set point. The Bears pulled in front with the game winner on an attack error from Weber State.
UNC found its rhythm on the offensive side in set four, hitting .333, with 18 kills. The Bears held a 17-16 edge in a tightly contested frame, before the Bears salted away the victory by scoring eight of the final 11 points.
