UNC looks to continue winning streak against Griz

GREELEY, Colo -- Northern Colorado men's basketball finishes out the weekend at home, hosting the University of Montana on Saturday, Jan. 7. Tip-off at Bank of Colorado Arena is set for 6 p.m. (MT).
• Northern Colorado holds a 13-22 record against Montana.
• UNC has won the last two meetings against the Grizzlies (78-75 on Dec. 4, 2021, and 75-66 on March 3, 2022).
• In the last meeting, Daylen Kountz went off for 29 points, while Matt Johnson II scored 20.
• Through 15 games this season Dalton Knecht is second in the Big Sky for scoring, averaging 18.2 points per game. First place in league scoring belongs to Idaho's Isaac Jones (20.0 ppg)
• The Bears suffered a three-game losing streak in November, before turning around to win four of five, including an 88-83 win over neighboring Colorado State on Dec. 3.
• This past Thursday, the Bears suffered a 77-56 loss at the hands of Montana State. Freshman Langston Reynolds had a career-best night, leading the Bears with 12 points, scoring all 12 in the second half. Fellow freshman Brock Wisne also set career-bests in points (10), and field goals made (5). Wisne was the only other Bear to score in double digits.
• Despite the loss at Weber State on Dec. 29, UNC faced a 22-point deficit midway through the second half and battled back to cut Weber State's lead to just five with just over two minutes left in the game
• In the second half at Idaho State (Dec. 31), UNC gave up seven turnovers and faced a 12-point deficit midway through the half, but battled back to force OT against the Bengals.
