Alirez Earns NCAA and Big 12 Wrestler of the Week Accolades

GREELEY, Colo. -- Northern Colorado's Andrew Alirez won the NCAA Wrestler of the Week and received his second Big 12 Wrestler of the Week this season to kick off 2023.
"Andrew continues to impress and well deserving of this honor. We are happy to see him recognized for his accomplishments," said UNC head wrestling coach Troy Nickerson.
Alirez defeated Allan Hart (Missouri) 8-4 to win the 141-pound weight division championship and earn Northern Colorado's first individual championship in program history at the Southern Scuffle.
The junior was named the Southern Scuffle's Most Valuable Wrestler and took home the Most Pins Award.
