GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado wrestling defeated CSU-Bakersfield 30-12 in a competitive dual Friday evening from Bank of Colorado Arena.

No.1-ranked Andrew Alirez (141) won a 12-4 majority decision, No. 20 Stevo Poulin secured a 12-5 decision, and No. 32 Vinny Zerban (157) rolled 17-0.

"I'm happy with the win, however we wrestled far from our best. Some guys had to battle through adversity tonight and I feel like they responded. We had a lot of new faces wrestling in front of the home crowd for the first time, which is new for them, and they will get better with time. We are excited for the opportunity to compete again on Sunday. It should be a great dual and we need Bear Nation to show up and support our student-athletes."
