GREELEY, Colo.- Northern Colorado has officially unveiled its schedule for their highly anticipated 2022-23 season as they come off a historical and record-breaking showing in 2021-22.
Their slate consists of a total of 18 matches including an eight-match Big 12 Conference slate.
In addition to the conference schedule, Northern Colorado will face competitions against a trio of Pac 12 opponents as well as several familiar regional foes.
Head Coach Troy Nickerson's Bears will kick off their season in Denver when they take on Fort Hayes State on November 4.
UNC will then make their 2022-23 home debut on December 18 when they host the UNC Duals and face off against New Mexico Highlands, Northeastern Junior College, and Northwest Kansas Technical College.
Members of the Pac 12 Conference, CSU-Bakersfield (Jan. 13) and Cal Poly (Jan. 15) will visit Greeley prior to Big 12 visits from South Dakota State (Jan. 27), Cal Baptist (Jan. 29), and North Dakota State (Feb. 4).
The team will then conclude regular season competition at home on February 19 when they host Air Force at Bank of Colorado Arena."We are very excited about our schedule this year. We will have a lot of new, young faces in our line up and felt it was important to be able to expose them to a lot," said Nickerson. "Getting a great mix of competition throughout the country will make sure these guys are prepared when it comes time for the post season."
UNC will also take part in a series of high-profile tournaments throughout the year, including the Jonathan Kaloust Bearcat Open at Binghamton, the Cougar Clash at SIUE, and the Southern Scuffle at Chattanooga.
Some Big 12 opponents the Bears will face on the road include West Virginia (Nov. 20), Oklahoma State (Jan. 20) and Utah Valley (Feb. 10). Northern Colorado will also go head-to-head with conference and regional foes Wyoming in Laramie on February 5.
Following regular season, the Big 12 Championships are set for March 4-5, while NCAA Championships will be held March 16-18, both being held in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
