Zhang Finishes in Top 20 at Gene Miranda Invite

UNC men's golf finished tied for 14th
USAFA – Northern Colorado men's golf concluded its first tournament of the season on Sunday finishing tied for 14th at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invite. The Bears shot a 7-over, 295 in the final round to tie with UTEP.
Graduate Jack Castiglia fired off the best round of the day for the Bears with an even par, 72. He placed five birdies on his scorecard for the day. For the tournament, he finished tied for 39th with a 5-over, 221.
Transfer Yuze Zhang had the best finish for Northern Colorado with a top 20 spot tying for 19th. He shot a 1-under, 215 for the 54-hole tournament. He racked up 14 birdies over the tournament to lead the team and tied for fifth in the field.
In the individual tournament, Blake Danni finished tied for seventh shooting a 3-under, 213. He closed out his weekend with a 1-under 71 on Sunday. Teammate TJ Shehee finished one stroke behind him for a tie for 11th.
What's Ahead
The Bears return to the course next Monday for the Ram Master Classic at Fort Collins Country Club. Jack Castiglia is the defending individual medalist at the tournament. The 54-hole event will take place over September 19 and 20.
