TULSA, Okla. – Northern Colorado Wrestling comes into the 2022 Big 12 Championships looking to top their program-best finish from 2021. The Bears and the rest of the Big 12 wrestling schools will compete at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma March 5-6. The first three sessions can be viewed on ESPN+ with the championships on ESPN2 Sunday evening.

Bear Facts
- Four Bears enter the Big 12 championships with a pre-seed. Andrew Alirez leads the group at the No. 3 seed for the 141 lbs division. Chris Sandoval and Alan Clothier are the No. 7 seed for 149 and 197, respectively. Jace Koelzer rounds out the group as the No. 8 seed for 125.
- Northern Colorado had its best-ever finish at last year's Big 12 Championship finishing eighth as a team with eight placers including three NCAA qualifiers.
- Entering the Big 12 Championships, UNC has three wrestlers ranked in the NCAA Coaches rankings in Andrew Alirez (7), Alan Clothier (24) and Jacob Seely (T33). Alirez and Clothier are also ranked in the RPI at No. 8 and 24, respectively.
- The group of Chris Sandoval, Alan Clothier, Jackson Hemauer and Jacob Seely are seeking their third time placing at Big 12s. Meanwhile Andrew Alirez and Jace Koelzer seek their second.
- UNC ended its dual schedule with a 19-18 win over Air Force two weeks ago.
- Northern Colorado is ranked No. 8 in the NWCA Mid Major top 20.
