Kountz Picks Up USBWA All-District Honors

Daylen Kountz became the third Bear to be named to the USBWA All-District team
INDIANAPOLIS – Daylen Kountz will have to make some more room for another award after he was named to the US Basketball Writers Association All-District team on Wednesday. He is the only Big Sky player to earn an All-District spot.
Kountz adds the honor to his list of unanimous first team All-Big Sky, All-Big Sky Tournament team member and first team NBCA All-District selection. He is just the third Bear to be named to the All-District team joining Jordan Davis (2018-19) and Devon Beitzel (2010-11).
He is the 10th highest scoring in the NCAA this season averaging 21.2 points per game. He is the Big Sky's leading scorer with 720 points this season. Kountz has added in 4.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists. The senior has scored 20-plus points in 22 games in the 2021-22 season.
Northern Colorado is a part of District VII along with all schools from Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, New Mexico, Colorado, Nevada and Montana.
Kountz and the rest of the Bears' season continues Sunday when they take on Florida Atlantic in the College Basketball Invitational (CBI) at 12:30 pm MT in Daytona Beach, Florida.
