Bears Start Strong, Fall to Wyoming

UNC wrestling dropped its home dual against Wyoming
GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado wrestling started fast in its final home dual of the year against Wyoming winning the first three bouts. Despite the fast start, Wyoming came back for the 21-15 dual victory.
Jace Koelzer started strong for UNC with a 5-1 decision including 1:17 of ride time.
Freshman Dyson Kunz brought the 1,155 fans inside Bank of Colorado Arena to their feet with his pin of Josh Kyle at 3:41. Kunz entered the second period down 2-0. It was Kunz first dual win of the season and sixth pin.
Andrew Alirez made it a 12-0 lead with this 6-3 decision over Darren Green. Alirez controlled the bout throughout with 2:01 of ride time.
Jacob Seely closed the dual on a high note for Northern Colorado with a 8-2 decision including 1:10 of ride time.
Wyoming won six straight bouts to take the lead and earn the dual win.

Northern Colorado hits the road for a pair of Big 12 duals next weekend. The Bears face South Dakota State on Friday and North Dakota State Sunday.
