Northern Colorado dominates Weber State 67-39 in Big Sky Opener

GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado opened Big Sky Conference play with a dominating 67-39 win over Weber State.
The Bears improved to 8-4 (1-0 Big Sky) overall, while the Wildcats fall to 4-9 (0-1 Big Sky) on the season.
Freshmen Averee Kleinhans and Aniah Hall each scored 12 points, while junior Hannah Simental dropped 11 points and freshman Lilah Moore helped with 10 points.
BY THE NUMBERS
- The Bears forced the Wildcats into 22 turnovers, which was turned into 24 points
- The Blue and Gold held WSU to 21.7 percent (10-for-46) shooting from the floor
- UNC won the battle in front of the basket and outscored WSU 24-14 in the paint and won the rebounding battle 42-23
- The Bears outscored the Wildcats 25-5 in the first quarter and shot 57.14 percent (8-for-14)
- For the game, UNC shot 44.9 percent (22-for-49) from the field
- The Bears were an efficient 16-for-18 from the free-throw line
- UNC's bench scored 23 points
- The Bears never trailed
