Ford catches pair of scores, Dotson tops 1,000 yards in season finale

After a 20-yard scoring catch by Noah Ford, Northern Colorado (3-8, 2-6 Big Sky) doubled up the Eagles 14-7 thanks to a pick-six from Nick Ciccio. After pressure by Henry Garrison and RJ Potts, Ciccio jumped in front of a lob towards the sideline and scampered 43 yards for the defensive score.
Eastern Washington (3-8, 2-6 Big Sky), however, reached the endzone twice in the final two minutes to retake the lead before the break.
The Eagles used a pair of big plays in the third quarter, including an interception return of their own, to make it 28 unanswered points for the home side.
UNC broke the drought late in the third with Ford catching his second TD of the game, this time a 6-yard strike from quarterback Dylan McCaffrey.
Ford finished the day with four catches for 42 yards and the two scores.
On the ground, Elijah Dotson broke 100 yards for the fourth time this season after accumulating 121 yards on 28 carries. Dotson closed out the season with 1,003 yards rushing and became just the second UNC player to eclipse the 1,000-yard mark during its NCAA DI era (2006).
On defense, linebackers Tama Tuitele, Elijah Anderson-Taylor, and Jordan Knapke each recorded at least 10 tackles, with Tuitele leading the trio with 14 stops, including two for loss.
