Northern Colorado (14-8, 8-3 Big Sky) trailed by as many as six points in the opening set and seven in the second, but swiftly returned to form to stun Portland State (14-8, 9-2 Big Sky) for the second time this season.
Portland State falls to 9-2 in Big Sky play with both losses coming via sweeps to the Bears. With five matches remaining, PSU will hold a one-game lead on the Bears for the regular-season title chase.
After needing comebacks in the first two sets, Northern Colorado marched to a 22-14 lead in the finale before holding on to complete the sweep.
Makenzie Harris led the Bears with 12 kills and added 11 digs for her seventh 'double-double' of the season.
Maddie Davies set a career best with seven blocks to help hold PSU to a .150 hitting percentage, its lowest rate of the year during conference play.
The Bears will now enjoy the next three matches at home with Northern Arizona arriving to Greeley for a Nov. 5 contest. Opening serve against the Lumberjacks is set for 6 p.m. inside the Bank of Colorado Arena.
UNC will close out its home slate the following weekend with Idaho State (Nov. 10) and Weber State (Nov. 12) coming to town.
