UNC wrestling retuned to Bank of Colorado Arena falling to Oregon State 30-15
GREELEY, Colo. – Still shorthanded after a two-week pause Northern Colorado wrestling showed a lot of fight in their dual meet against Oregon State on Friday night. The Beavers spoiled the Bears' homecoming taking the dual 30-15.
Senior captain Alan Clothier started the dual with a bang. He picked up some important extra points for the Bears with his pin of Ryan Reyes 13 seconds into the second period. It was his second pin of the year. Clothier closed the night out with a major decision in an extra match.
Clothier wasn't the only Bear to record a pin on the night, so did Milliken native Cody Eaton. Stepping up to the 165 lbs class for his team, Eaton trailed 4-1 to Lance Stigall of Oregon State after the first period. But all it takes is one shot and the bout is over. That's exactly what Eaton did as he pinned Stigall 15 seconds into the second period giving the Bears a chance to get back into the dual.
Friday night also marked the return of Jacob Seely to Bank of Colorado Arena. Now wrestling at heavyweight he earned a 5-2 decision over JJ Dixon.
