The Game
Fresh off a 17-10 overtime win over Northern Arizona, Northern Colorado Football heads to Bozeman, Montana for another Big Sky Battle on Saturday. The Bears are seeking their first win in Bozeman in 18 years against the No. 12/11 ranked Bobcats.
Numbers to Know
2 -Â For the second time in program history they played in back-to-back overtime games
4 -Â UNC has recovered four fumbles to lead the Big Sky and rank 17th in the nation.
18 -Â It has been 18 years since Northern Colorado has won in Bozeman.
11.5 -Â Jace Bobo leads the Big Sky with 11.5 tackles per game. It puts him seventh in the nation.Â
Scouting the Bobcats
• Montana State won its Big Sky opener 30-17 at Portland State. The Bobcats trailed early, but scored 27 unanswered for the win.Â
• The Bobcats have one of the best rushing attacks in the FCS averaging 207.2 yards per game. Running back Isaiah Ifanse leads the attack with 122.3 yards per game, leading the Big Sky and seventh in the FCS.Â
• All-America linebacker Troy Andersen leads the team with 33 tackles. He ranks in the top 50 nationally with 8.2 tackles per game.Â
• Defensive end Daniel Hardy is 11th in the nationally with 1.25 sacks a game and fourth in tackles for a loss with 2.1.Â
• MSU is under first year head coach Brent Vigen who took over in February.Â
• Montana State did not participate in the Spring 2021 season.Â
Around the Big Sky
UC Davis came away victorious in the top 25 matchup betwenn them and Weber State in Ogden, picking up a big win to open conference season.Â
UNC is tied with UCD, Montana State, Sacramento State, Eastern Washington and Montana at 1-0 in conference play.Â
This week the conference will see the bright lights of ESPN2 as No. 6 Eastern Washington hosts No. 4 Montana at 8:30 pm.Â
