Bears stay perfect in Big Sky after sweeping Bobcats

GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado's perfect weekend continues.
After sweeping Montana on Thursday, Volleyball has yet to drop a set in Big Sky Play as the Bears earned its second straight sweep, 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-21) over Montana State.
A methodical effort in set No. 1 saw the Bears slowly but surely creep out to a 15-10 lead midway through the set. Three points with Kailey Jo Ince serving here and three more is Daisy Schultz at the wheel there and the Bears were in business.
On the right side, Rachel Hickman found all kinds of success. Five kills in the opening set on .444 hitting along with two kills from Ince gave UNC the first set, 25-19.
Northern Colorado's success serving and at serve-receive kept the momentum rolling in the second set.
Laura Katarzynski dialed up two of her three aces on the evening while Kyndall Feather added one herself.
Daisy Schultz spread the offense around as Hickman, Makenzie Harris and Ince tallied three kills apiece as UNC forged a commanding two-set lead.
The Greenwood Village, Colorado native stacked up 38 assists on the night, the most in a three-set match for Northern Colorado this season.
Harris and Ince enjoyed most of the spoils in the third set. Harris grabbed six kills, finishing with a match-high 13, while Ince mustered five, racking up 10 total on Saturday night.
Defensively, Katarzynski piled up 12 digs as the Bears held the Bobcats to .185 hitting in the final frame to seal the deal, 3-0.
