Portie Departs Women’s Golf Program

Ben Portie steps down as women's golf coach
GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado women's golf coach Ben Portie is leaving the university to pursue other opportunities.
"The department thanks Ben and his family for their investment into our women's golf program and wish him the best," said Director of Athletics, Darren Dunn.
Portie oversaw the UNC women's golf program for the past four seasons. He helped UNC earn a top five finish in the Big Sky in two of the three years a championship was held. Portie coached the 2019 Big Sky individual champion in Beah Cruz, the third individual champion in program history. He coached five All-Big Sky selections.
UNC not only saw success on the course but in the classroom as well. With the guidance of Portie, the program is currently on a four-year run of ranking in the top 10 percent of the NCAA Academic Progress Ratings (APR).
A national search will begin immediately for the next Northern Colorado women's golf head coach.
