A record five Bears earn NWCA Scholar All-America honors

. Jace Koelzer, Mosha Schwartz, Nick Knutson, Alan Clothier and Jacob Seely earned NWCA Scholar All-America distinction
MANHEIM, Pa. – Northern Colorado wrestling made history on the mat this year earning their first NWCA ranking in 51 years, now they are making history in the classroom. The Bears had five wrestlers earn NWCA Scholar All-America honors. Jace Koelzer, Mosha Schwartz, Nick Knutson, Alan Clothier and Jacob Seely made history for the program becoming the most in a season.
To qualify for the NWCA All-Academic team, a wrestler must have at least a 3.2 cumulative GPA and either been an NCAA qualifier or won 60 percent of his total schedule and must have competed in at least 60 percent of the schedule.
Clothier, Seely and Koelzer are repeat Scholar All-Americans while it is Schwartz and Knutson's first time. Seely became a four-time recipient, while Clothier and Koelzer earned the honor for the second time.
Northern Colorado now has 16 NWCA Scholar All-Americans under head coach Troy Nickerson.
