Olivier, Thimsen qualify for NCAA West Regionals

Triple jumpers Welre Olivier and Tyler Thimsen will compete in the NCAA Track and Field Regionals
GREELEY, Colo. – A pair of Bears are headed to the NCAA Track and Field West Regionals in College Station, Texas next week. Triple jumpers Welre Olivier and Tyler Thimsen will represent the Blue & Gold.
Olivier comes into the regional with the 21st best mark in the West Region at 15.84m. That mark came at the Jack Christiansen Invitational and set the UNC record. He won the Big Sky Championship last week with a jump of 15.60m.
Thimsen ranks 44th in the west with a jump of 15.28m. He achieved that mark at the Sooner Invite in April.
It is the first time for both Olivier's and Thimsen's first NCAA Regional appearance.
The triple jump is set to take place on Friday, May 28 at 2:15 pm. Fans can watch the event here and find live results here.
