Bears host quad-dual Saturday

Northern Colorado wrestling welcomes Air Force, Fresno State and West Virginia to Bank of Colorado Arena Saturday
GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado wrestling returns home on Saturday to host a quad-dual with Fresno State, Air Force and West Virginia. The Bears will face Air Force at 6 p.m. and Fresno State at 7:30 p.m. The duals on mat two will be West Virginia vs Fresno State at 6 pm and West Virginia vs Air Force at 7:30. All four duals can be watched on FloWrestling.
Between the first and second match, UNC will honor its nine seniors in Johnny Blankenship, Alan Clothier, Jimmy Fate, Mason Hulse, Nick Knutson, Dalton Robertson, Trenton Schultz, Jacob Seely and Robert Winters Jr.
Scouting the Bears
A shorthanded UNC squad traveled to West Virginia last week and competed well against the Mountaineers but ended up on the short end for their first loss of the season.
Northern Colorado continues to see eight guys ranked across the FloWrestling. TrackWrestling, InterMat and the Open Mat.
Super sophomores Mosha Schwartz and Andrew Alirez continue to come in with the highest ranking for the team at No. 7 in both TrackWrestling and InterMat. Schwartz is in the top 10 across all four platforms ranked eighth by FloWrestling and The Open Mat.
Alirez is ranked ninth by the Open Mat and 18th by FloWrestling. Both wrestlers missed UNC's dual at West Virginia.
Jacob Seely and Dalton Robertson are ranked inside the top 20. Seely is No. 15 by FloWrestling and Robertson, 16th. Both are also ranked by TrackWrestling and the Open Mat. Seely is ranked 20th and 25th, respectively and Robertson 18th and 21st.
Two other Bears enter the week ranked across multiple platforms in Jackson Hemauer and Alan Clothier. Hemauer is 19th on the Open Mat 23rd on FloWrestling. Clothier is No. 22 on TrackWrestling, 23 on Open Mat and 25 on FloWrestling. Hemauer won both his matches against WVU by major decision and Clothier has won his last three matches by major decision.
Theorius Robison and Chris Sandoval round out the list of ranked Bears. They come in at No. 27 and 33, respectively by The Open Mat.
Scouting Air Force
Air Force is 0-3 on the year having wrestled South Dakota State, Oklahoma State and Wyoming. The Falcons will compete in three duals on Saturday, hosting Fresno State in the morning before making the drive up I-25 to Greeley.
Six wrestlers are ranked for the Falcons in Cody Phippen (#27), Jared Van Vleet (#16), Lenny Petersen (#22), Cody Surratt (#33), Jake Thompson (#28) and Wyatt Hendrickson (#27).
Scouting Fresno State
Fresno State will double the number of duals it has competed in this year when they wrestle three times on Saturday. The Bulldogs take on Air Force at the Academy Saturday morning before facing West Virginia and UNC in Greeley that night.
Two Bulldogs are in the national rankings as DJ Lloren checks in No. 13 by FloWrestling, InterMat and The Open Mat and is No. 15 by Trackwrestling. Hunter Cruz checks in at No. 30 at 184 pounds by The Open Mat.
Scouting West Virginia
WVU defeated the Bears last week in Morgantown 25-11. Last week they had three wrestlers ranked, this week they four. Jeffrey Boyd joins teammates Noah Adams, Killian Cardinale and Peyton Hall in the rankings. Boyd is No. 32 by the Open Mat.
Adams continues to be the unanimous top-rated 197-pound wrestler in the nation. He enters Saturday with a 39-match win streak.
Prior to coming to Greeley, West Virginia will take on Wyoming in Laramie Saturday morning.
What's Ahead
Northern Colorado will be spending Valentine's Day on the mat. UNC will be in Iowa facing Big 12 foes Iowa State and Northern Iowa. Both duals will take place in Ames.
