Women's Basketball takes quick trip to San Francisco

GREELEY, Colo. – Following its home victory, Northern Colorado Women's Basketball is back in action in the Golden Gate City for a matchup with San Francisco.

Opening Tip
Head coach Kristen Mattio earned her first win as head coach of Northern Colorado with a 60-58 victory over UTRGV.
Hannah Simental has scored in double figures every game this season.
Transfer Zoe Campbell is averaging 2.0 blocks per game in the early parts of this season. She ranks first in the Big Sky and 53rd in the nation.
Jaiden Galloway's newfound jumper has been downright lethal to begin the 2021-22 season. The senior from Aurora, Colorado is shooting 53.8 percent from downtown, second-best in the Big Sky and No. 57 in the nation.
As a team, Northern Colorado has been leaving the glass spotless. Despite no player reaching double figures in rebounds, the Bears are +5.3 in rebound margin.
Tarleton transfer Callie Boyles showed why she was one of the best scorers in the state of Texas. Boyles was a perfect 4-4, including 3-3 from three-point range and 2-2 at the charity stripe for 13 points against UTRGV.
Last Time Out
Head coach Kristen Mattio picked up her first win as Bear, outlasting UT Rio Grande Valley, 60-58. Hannah Simental led all scorers with 14, scoring in double figures for her third straight game to open the season.
Scouting the Dons
Head coach Molly Goodenbour has the Dons picked to finish fourth in the West Coast Conference this season, the highest preseason ranking for San Francisco under Goodenbour.
Sophomore Ioanna Krimili was selected on the Preseason All-WCC Team. The Greece native comes into the game averaging 18.7 points per game and 5.4 rebounds.
Bears fans will recognize the name Jasmine Gayles. The former UNC standout averaged 11.7 points for the Blue and Gold a season ago.
History against San Francisco
The Bears and Dons are no strangers. The two have matched up seven times throughout the history of the programs with UNC owning a 5-2 record, including a 2-1 mark in San Francisco.
