Northern Colorado welcomes Big 12 foe Oklahoma to Bank of Colorado Arena
GREELEY, Colo. - Northern Colorado Wrestling returns home on Sunday ready for another tough Big 12 dual. The Bears host No. 17 Oklahoma at 2 pm inside Bank of Colorado Arena. UNC is 4-0 inside the Bank this season including 1-0 in Big 12 duals. Oklahoma will be wrestling its second dual of the weekend on Sunday after taking on Arizona State in Phoenix on Friday night.Â
Bear Facts
- Northern Colorado battled well last week against No. 3 Missouri falling 38-3.Â
- Andrew Alirez picked up an upset win over No. 7 Allan Hart of Missouri 3-1 in sudden victory. That propelled Alirez up the rankings at 141 lbs into the top 10. He is now 3-0 on the year.Â
- Jace Koelzer and Chris Sandoval wrestled tough at their weights against Missouri having chances late in their bouts to steal points for the Bears.
- Freshman Rudy Lopez has earned first place at the Mines Rookie Open and Mesa open over the past two weeks. He has been wrestling at 149 lbs.
- While the Bears are off from official competition  next week, Northern Colorado will send a large contingency to the Wyoming Cowboy Open next Saturday.Â
What's Ahead
The Bears will be off next week as they prepare to head to Las Vegas for the first weekend of December for the Cliff Keen Invitations. UNC does not return home until January 14 when they host Northern Iowa. Tickets to that dual are available at UNCBears.com/Tickets.Â
