GREELEY, Colo. – The Bank is Open! Northern Colorado Women's Basketball makes its 2021-22 home debut on Tuesday with UT Rio Grande Valley in town.

Opening Tip
Northern Colorado led for over 31 minutes in its matchup against in-state rival Colorado State. The Bears hit 5-8 threes in the opening quarter, going toe-to-toe with the Mountain West foe for the full 40 minutes.
Senior guard Jaiden Galloway has been working on her jumper all offseason and the effort has paid off. The Aurora, Colorado native eclipsed her career-high in made three-pointers in the first half against CSU with three. Galloway would finish with four and collected a team-high 12 points.
Hannah Simental remains lights out from downtown. The sophomore is an even 50 percent from deep to open the season, good enough for second-best in the Big Sky.
Transfer Zoe Campbell has made an immediate impact in the Blue and Gold in the early parts of 2021. The Australian has posted four blocked shots through the Bears' first two games, No. 2 in the conference and No. 70 in the nation.
As a team, the Bears have crashed the boards with a vengeance. UNC is +4.5 in rebounding margin heading into Tuesday's matchup, fourth-best in the Big Sky.
Scouting the Vaqueros
UT Rio Grande Valley arrives in Colorado with an 0-2 record. However, each of those losses came via single-digit affairs, including a 63-56 effort against the No. 21 ranked South Florida Bulls.
Fourth-year head coach Lane Ford has his team pegged to finish 10th in the Western Athletic Conference. Sophomore guard Sara Bershers picked up Preseason All-WAC Second Team honors. A season ago, Bershers averaged 13.9 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists en route to an All-WAC Honorable Mention award.
Bears fans will recognize the Vaqueros' latest transfer in Taylor Muff. Muff spent four seasons with the UNC Volleyball team, breaking numerous records and becoming just the ninth player in program history to amass 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs.
History against UTRGV
Tuesday marks the fifth official meeting between the two schools. Northern Colorado is 4-0 against the Vaqueros, including a 1-0 record at the Bank of Colorado Arena. UNC has gone toe-to-toe with the Western Athletic Conference 26 times, earning a 15-11 mark.
