Football Returns Home to Host Sacramento State

UNC football welcomes Sacramento State to Nottingham Field Saturday

The Game
Northern Colorado returns home to close out the month by hosting Sacramento State on Saturday. The Bears returned to the win column last week defeating Southern Utah 17-9 while Sac enters on a four-game win streak.
Numbers to Know
2.3 -Â David Hoage leads the Big Sky and fourth in the FCS with 2.3 tackles for loss a game.Â
21 -Â Northern Colorado held Southern Utah to just 21 yards rushing last Saturday.
100 -Â Dylan McCaffrey ran for exactly 100 yards at SUU. He is the team's first 100-yard rusher of the year.
85 -Â Tru Wilson ran for a career-best 85 yards on Saturday against SUU
Scouting the Hornets
• Sacramento State enters Saturday on a four-game win streak most recently defeating Northern Arizona 44-0 last week.Â
• The Hornets are one of two teams that remain undefeated in the Big Sky along side Montana State.Â
• Sac deploys two different QBs in Jake Dunniway and Asher O'Hara. Dunniway is the main passer with 1,417 yards. He was named the Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against NAU. O'Hara leads the team in rushing with 339 yards on 101 attempts and has passed for another 745.Â
• The Hornets have one of the top receivers in the Big Sky in Pierre Williams. He averages 86.0 yards per game and has scored twice.Â
• Sacramento State is one of the top ball possession teams in the nation with a TOP of 34:10 a game to lead the Big Sky.
• Sac's defense ranks third in the Big Sky and 23rd in the FCS allowing 315.3 yards per game to opponents.Â
Around the Big Sky
And then there were two. Sacramento State and Montana State remain the final teams unbeaten in Big Sky play. Weber State ended EWU's 21-game home win streak last weekend to knock them from the field of the unbeaten.Â
The Big Sky has six teams ranked in the top 25. All six also appear on UNC's schedule for 2021.
