Bears head west for battle against Eastern Washington

GREELEY, Colo. – Head coach Jenny Huth and the Bears look to get back in the win column with a trip up to Eastern Washington.

Opening Tip
Northern Colorado is coming off its third consecutive conference series split after trading wins with Idaho over the weekend.
Junior guard Brooklyn Evans delivered her best performance as a Bear against the Vandals, scoring a career-high 10 points.
UNC travels to Cheney for the 14th time in program history. The Bears have won two straight against the Eagles since EWU knocked them out of the 2019 Big Sky Tournament.
Hannah Simental has been lights out for the Bears. The freshman averaged 14 points against the Vandals and hasn't missed a three-pointer since January 7 (8-8).
In addition to hitting beyond the arc, UNC's three-point defense has been equally stellar, holding opponents under 33 percent in three out of the last four games.
Scouting the Eagles
Preseason No. 9 and 10 respectively in the media and coaches poll, Eastern Washington has turned a few heads after a quick 4-2 start in the Big Sky. Head coach Wendy Schuller has four players averaging in double figures, including recent Conference Player of the Week Aaliyah Alexander.
Both of EWU's scheduled contests against Southern Utah were canceled. Prior to the cancellation, the Eagles had swept both Portland State and Weber State to start the New Year.
History against Eastern Washington
Overall the Bears are 17-11 against Eastern Washington and thanks to a win in Cheney last season, have a 7-6 mark on Reese Court.
UNC and EWU have produced a flurry of epic games over the years. Eighteen of the last 20 matchups have been decided by 10 points or less, including two overtime games.
Against the Conference
The Bears are 3-5 thus far in a young Big Sky Conference season. Since joining the conference, UNC has 161 wins to just 127 losses.
On This Date
Between January 21 and 23 combined, UNC is 14-7 on the date. On January 21, 1978, the Bears knocked off Arizona State, 74-66.
