Former UNC guard Jonah Radebaugh to begin his professional career in Sweden
GREELEY, Colo. – Former Northern Colorado men's basketball student-athlete Jonah Radebaugh is headed to Sweden to start his professional basketball career. The three-time Big Sky Defensive Player of the Year will play for Köping Stars of the Swedish Basketball League (SBL).
"I'm excited to get going finally. Just being given an opportunity to play the game again is a blessing I never thought I'd get," Radebaugh said. "I just want to play so I'm happy I can!"
Radebaugh heads to Sweden after a well-decorated career as a Bear. His senior year alone he was an NABC All-District selection, the Big Sky Defensive Player of the Year and a consensus first team All-Big Sky selection. He averaged 16.5 points, 6.5 assists, 6.3 rebounds and 1.5 steals while helping UNC to a 22-9 season before it was cut short due to COVID 19.
The former walk-on broke the program's record for single-season assists and ended up in the top 10 in career points, rebounds, assists, steals and made 3-pointers.
Radebaugh joins former teammates Jordan Davis (2015-19) and Andre Spight (2016-18) as former Bears currently playing professionally.
He is joining a team that finished third in the shortened SBL season in 2019-20.
