WAC Postponements Affect UNC Baseball and Swim and Dive Program

UNC baseball sees fall competition canceled and swim and dive start of season moved back
DENVER – In consideration of the global COVID-19 pandemic and challenges faced by its member institutions, the Western Athletic Conference Board of Directors voted today to suspend all fall championship and non-championship athletics competition through the end of the calendar year.
The announcement by the WAC affects Northern Colorado's swimming and diving and baseball programs. Swim and dive will now have the beginning of its season postponed through the end of October. Meanwhile, baseball will be unable to compete in their non-championship portion of their schedule, more commonly known as fall ball.
The WAC announcement on Thursday, August 13 coincides with the Big Sky Conference announcing the postponement of all its fall sports to the spring of 2021. The Big Sky announced last week the moving of football competition to the spring of 2021 last week.
Northern Colorado's athletic programs may continue with permissible athletics activities at their discretion while abiding by NCAA legislation, campus policies, and local and state regulations.
