Bears Baseball Sees Improvements to Jackson Field

As the Northern Colorado baseball team continues to prepare for the 2020 season, fans of the program will see improvements at Jackson Field this spring. Amongst various projects, the Bears will have a brand new, state of the art live streaming and video capabilities, a new scoreboard, batting cage, and windscreen that will improve the look and feel for games at home. The funds for these projects were generously given by private donations and will help to provide players and families alike, a better baseball experience at UNC.
Â
Starting this spring, the Bears will have updated live streaming for all home games. Replacing the single-camera view, games will now be broadcasted using three cameras located from behind home plate, above the Bears dugout, and from the traditional centerfield location. A new scoreboard will also be installed in the coming weeks. The scoreboard will be larger than the one currently at Jackson and will be a great addition for teams and fans. The Bears will also be sporting a full, pro-style batting cage that is easily transportable that'll be new this spring. Lastly, new windscreens will surround the friendly confines of The Jack this spring.Â
Â
"We are always trying to upgrade our facilities for our student-athletes, recruits, and fans and this is a fantastic start to the 2020 season," said 10th year Head Coach Carl Iwasaki. "One of our highest priorities is to provide our players with the best experience we can at UNC and it means so much to not just them, but the program when people are willing to donate and help the Bears out. We would like to thank those that have chosen to allow us to invest in our players and the future of Bears baseball."
Â
The Bears continue working out as they prepare to go on the road to open the 2020 season against Houston Baptist and Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas February 14 – 16.Â
Â
Northern Colorado's home opener is set for March 6 when they host North Dakota State for a four-game series.
