GREELEY – In front of a packed house for Senior Night, Northern Colorado came up just short against Eastern Washington 68-64. The loss snaps a five-game win streak for the Bears and moves them to 20-9 overall and 13-5 in Big Sky play.
Senior guard Jonah Radebaugh left it all out on the court Saturday playing his typical 40 minutes leading the team with 21 points and seven assists and adding in five rebounds and a steal.
His fellow seniors Trent Harris and Kai Edwards had solid Senior Nights too. Harris finished with nine points, three rebounds and a steal. Edwards scored 11 points and grabbed six rebounds off the bench.
It was a tightly contested game all night long with neither team leading by more than seven at any point in the game.
Eastern Washington jumped out to that seven-point lead early, but UNC came back to tie the game with an 8-1 run.
Radebaugh took over with a personal 8-0 run after that to put UNC up 22-16 with 9:25 left in the first half.
Northern Colorado extended the lead out to six early in the second half before chipped away at it and reclaimed it with a 6-0 run to go up 49-47 with 12:32 left.
Three minutes later Eastern Washington took the lead for go, despite UNC cutting the lead to one possession five times, just unable to make the timely shot when needed.
The Bears had a chance to tie or take the lead inside the final five seconds, but Radebaugh's drive fell off and EWU grabbed the rebound making two free throws to clinch the win.
