Bears Hot Start Not Enough Against Portland State

UNC men's basketball fell to Portland State Monday Night 83-71
GREELEY – A hot start turned into a cold night for Northern Colorado as they fell to Portland State 83-71.
The loss drops the Bears to 15-8 on the year and 8-4 in Big Sky play.
Bodie Hume came out and was on fire early for UNC scoring 13 of the team's first 15 points. He made a trio of 3s as Northern Colorado jumped out to a 15-6 lead.
Hume ended the game with a career-high 26 points to lead the Bears.
PSU worked its way back into the game with a pair of 5-0 runs to tie it by the 8-minute mark. It was a back and forth battle the rest of the first half. The Vikings held the lead at 36-31 at the break.
Northern Colorado stayed within three early in the second half, but a 7-0 run made it a 10-point PSU lead with 14:27 left.
The Vikings continued to make shots in the second half shooting 55.2 percent to keep UNC at a distance for the rest of the night.
Portland State out-shot the Bears 57.1 percent to 41.3.
