Scouting the Wildcats
Weber State goes as senior guard Jerrick Harding goes. The Preseason Big Sky Player of the Year is averaging 19.9 points and 2.3 assists per game. He has missed some time for the Wildcats this season due to injury playing in 12 of the team's 14 games.
Only one other WSU player in Cody John is averaging double figures in scoring at 12.9 points per game.Â
Head coach Randy Rahe has coached up a discipline team as they are fifth in the nation fouling only 13.6 times per game.
Coming into the 2019-20 season, Weber State was picked to finish second by the media and third by the coaches.Â
History Against Weber State
Northern Colorado and Weber State never played each other until the Bears joined the Big Sky in 2006. The Wildcats lead the series 21-7. UNC is still seeking their first ever win in Ogden.
On This Date
The Bears are 14-9 when playing on January 9, but with a big home-road split. UNC is 12-2 when playing at home and 2-7 when on the road. The last two times Northern Colorado has played on the date they have faced Weber State splitting those contests.
Around the Big Sky
Just two weeks into Big Sky play and there are both no more undefeated or winless teams in the conference. The Bears took down Montana while previously winless Sacramento State beat the other unbeaten in Idaho State 68-49. The other winless team, Northern Arizona, won at Weber State Saturday 72-64. Montana currently holds a half-game lead over a quartet of teams for first place including UNC. The Big Sky has been out of action since Saturday night.Â
