Bears Host Bison at 2 pm on Saturday

Northern Colorado will get back to Big 12 Wrestling against North Dakota St.
It's back to the Big 12 this week, as Northern Colorado wrestling hosts North Dakota State. UNC will face off against the Bison on Saturday, Feb. 1st at 2 p.m(MST).
In the initial NCAA coaches panel rankings, five UNC wrestlers earned spots in their respective weight classes. Andrew Alirez is slated at No. 13 at 149-pounds and Dalton Robertson was No. 15 at 285-pounds. Jacob Seely is ranked No. 19 for the 197-pound class and Mosha Schwartz is No. 23 at 133-pounds. Alan Clothier comes in at No. 28 for the 184-pound rankings.
Alirez is also ranked highly in other national polls, earning the No. 11 spot from The Open Mat. Robertson earns the No. 11 ranking from Trackwrestling.com's rankings. Seely is also ranked No. 19 in Trackwrestling's list, with Schwartz picking up the No. 17 ranking from Trackwrestling. Clothier ranks No. 22 for Trackwrestling. Austin Matthews is listed at No. 33 in the 165-pound rankings.
Schwartz leads UNC this season in wins, with an 18-6 overall record. Clothier is second on the team with a 17-6 record.
The Bears are coming off a tough, 20-16 dual loss to CSU Bakersfield at the Clash in the Commons this past Sunday. The dual came down to the final match at 141-pounds with Chris Sandoval facing Angelo Martinoni. Sandoval fell just short of the win in a 11-8 decision over Martinoni. UNC is 1-5 in dual matches this season.
Scouting the Bison
North Dakota State is 4-3 in dual matches this season, going 1-1 in Big 12 contests. The Bison defeated Oklahoma, 24-15, in the team's last match up. NDSU picked up falls at 165-pounds from Andrew Fogarty and at 149-pounds from Jaden Van Maanen to propel the team to the win. NDSU has four wrestlers in the NCAA rankings, with Cam Sykora(133) at No. 11, Jared Franek(157) at No. 30, Cordell Eaton(197) at No. 33 and Brandon Metz(285) at No. 21.
In the dual last season, North Dakota State defeated Northern Colorado, 30-7, with Rico Montoya and Chris Sandoval winning matches for the Bears.
Following the Bears
Northern Colorado will face North Dakota State on Saturday, Feb. 1, with the first bout starting at 2 p.m.
