Bears and Vandals Battle Through to 110'

MOSCOW, Idaho. – After the Bears bumped the Idaho Vandals out of the Big Sky Tournament last season, they meet again for another heart-pounding game as there was no win or loss, but a 1-1 tie.
Northern Colorado entered this game at with a three-game win streak over the Vandals dating back to 2017.
The first half was physical and filled with action but, both teams were sitting at 0-0 going into the half. Ashley Franza had three saves in the first half while Taylor Bray had one shot on goal against Idaho.
The second half brought the Bears a lot more opportunities as they had three more shots and three more corner kicks. While both teams were sitting at zeros, in the 87th minute, Olivia Seddon scored a goal for the Bears off a corner kick, her second for this past weekend as well as season.
While the Bears were preparing to celebrate a 1-0 victory over the Vandals, with 12 seconds remaining in the game when Idaho scored the game-tying goal to force overtime.
Franza faced seven shots during regulation time and kept the Bears in the game as she faced one more hard shot by the Vandals in overtime. However, neither team could get one to the back of the net resulting in another tie, at 1-1, for the Bears this season.
Lindsi Jennings led the Bears in shots for today at two total, and right behind her was Seddon, Bray, and Kalen Niedling with one shot each.

"We had a tough one today, we thought we had it but we couldn't clear that last ball that they scored on. I'm proud of our players for defending well, and how other players fell back. It was just one of those days, and we will get back at it this week."
What's Next
The Bears are back in Greeley at Jackson Stadium as they face Idaho State at 7 pm on October 4. Then on October 6, Northern Colorado hosts Weber State at 1 pm.
