Coyotes Slip Past Bears
9/22/2019 4:47:00 PM | Women's Soccer
Greeley- The Bears had a hard pill to swallow today, falling 1-0 to the Coyotes. Even though the Bears had 12 total shots, it wasn't enough to keep the Coyotes away from burying one in the back of the net.
Lexi Pulley opened the game with a hard shot on goal, but was saved and allowed South Dakota a counter opportunity for an early Coyotes goal in the fourth minute. Maddie Duren and Kenzie Engelkins retaliated by shooting two shots far left, and the Bears weren't going to stop there.
The Bears attempted nine more shots throughout the game with six overall corner kicks. While the Bears we're getting down the field and spent over 60 percent of their time in the Coyotes defensive half, but they couldn't find a way to put the ball in the net.
Lindsi Jennings showed great leadership with the Bears as she played up top and had two shots with one being on goal. Taylor Bray also had two shots for the Bears, but neither shot found it's home.
What's Next
The Bears are on the road again, traveling to Eastern Washington on September 27, where they will start their conference schedule at a clean 0-0 slate. Following, the Bears will remain on the road as they take on the University of Idaho September 29. October 4 the Bears return home to take on Idaho State University at 1PM.
