Ryan Diedrick joins UNC football staff as wide receivers coach
GREELEY – Head coach Earnest Collins Jr. and the Northern Colorado football team welcome Ryan Diedrick to the coaching staff as the team's new wide receivers coach. He joins the staff after longtime assistant Keith Grable stepped away to work at Holy Family High School.
Diedrick comes to UNC after spending the past two seasons at Colorado School of Mines as an offensive assistant. He worked under the Bear's first year offensive coordinator Nick Fulton while at Mines. He was a part of an offensive staff that led one of the most potent offenses in all of Division II football. In 2018, the Orediggers ranked second as a passing offense and 22nd in rushing offense.
Prior to joining the staff at Colorado School of Mines, Diedrick was Indiana State where he served as an offensive analyst/video coordinator and as an offensive quality control coach.
Having graduated from Willamette University in 2016, he retired from his playing career as a quarterback and receiver his junior season before becoming a student assistant as a senior. He earned his bachelor's degree in economics.
Along with the hiring of Diedrick, running backs coach Brandon Maguire has also been named the team's new recruiting coordinator.
The 2019 UNC football season begins on Thursday, August 29 when the Bears travel to San Jose State. Northern Colorado's home opener is set for Saturday, September 21 at 2 pm against old NCC rival South Dakota.
