Bears Back to Normal in Home Opener

UNC men's basketball enjoyed some home cooking of Incarnate Word on Friday Night
It was good to be home for Northern Colorado men's basketball as they defeated Incarnate Word in their home-opener 83-61. The Bears had four players score in double figures and shot 50.9 percent as a team.
Bodie Hume led the team with a career-high 25 points. Twenty-three of his 25 points came in the first half for Hume. He was 7-for-11 shooting and made all six of his free throw attempts in the first half.
The three other Bears in double figures were Trent Harris (20), Matt Johnson (16) and Kai Edwards (11).
After shooting woes at Texas to open the season, Northern Colorado enjoyed some home cooking making 14 3-pointers to shoot 43.8 percent from beyond the arc.
Missing Sam Masten due to injury, Jonah Radebaugh stepped up as the main ball handler for the Bears ending the game with a career-high seven assists. Five of his seven came in the first half.
UNC used a 10-0 to up 19-13 in the middle of the first half and had a couple more runs to build room between them and the Cardinals the rest of the way.
After UIW cut Northern Colorado's lead to one with 6:10 left in the first half, the Bears outscored the Cardinals 20-6.
Incarnate Word got withing six of UNC early in the second half before the Bears shut the door with a 10-2 run. Harris fueled the run with a pair of 3s.

- The Bears spread the ball around with 20 assists. Six different Bears had at least one assist and four with three or more.

Northern Colorado stays at home for their next game when they host Colorado College on Tuesday, November 12. Tipoff between the Bears and Tigers is set for 7 pm.
