Bears Make Final Trip to Grand Forks

UNC football closes out the road portion of their schedule at North Dakota Saturday

Opening Drive
For one last time Northern Colorado will make the trip to North Dakota on Saturday. The long time North Central Conference rivals will no longer be in the same conference after this season and have no future games scheduled against each other. The Fighting Hawks depart the Big Sky and join the Missouri Valley Football Conference starting in 2020.Â
UNC looks to bounce back after a tough 45-14 loss to Montana State last week, while North Dakota just missed out on a huge upset win over No. 3 Weber State falling 30-27.Â
Saturday's game between the Bears and Fighting Hawks is the 32nd meeting between the two programs and 14th in Grand Forks.
A Look at North Dakota
• North Dakota just missed out on a huge upset over No. 3 Weber State. The Wildcats scored 10 points in the final 2:49 to earn the comeback win over UND.Â
• The Fighting Hawks have won three games against teams ranked at the time they played them. Overall they have played six ranked teams in 2019.
• UND has the best red zone offense in the nation scoring on 96.4 percent of their trips inside the 20.Â
• Offenses have to know where Doonnell Rodgers is at all times as he has a nose for the ball. He averages 10.7 tackles per game which ranks ninth nationally.Â
• North Dakota will join the Missouri Valley Football Conference after this season.Â

10 -Â Brooks Talkington recorded his first career interception against Montana State and did it in style turning it into a 10-yard pick-six.
3 -Â Noah Sol has now caught a touchdown pass in each of the past three games for the Bears. On Saturday he caught a pass from eight yards out to extend his streak.
11 -Â UNC ranks in the top 25 nationally having intercepted 11 passes this season. That also ranks them third in the Big Sky.Â
