Cross Country Men and Women Finish Fifth at the MSU-Bozeman Running Invite

Both UNC's men's and women's cross country team finished fifth in Bozeman, Montana Saturday
BOZEMAN – Northern Colorado cross country competed in its second meet of the year Saturday at the MSU-Bozeman Running Invite. The Bears competed against some fellow Big Sky foes in the event and ended up finishing fifth in both the men's and women's team standings.
Stephen Haas recorded the best finish of any UNC athlete taking 13th in the men's race at a time of 26:36.36 on the 5-mile course. The Bears had four finishers in spots 24 -28 in Jeremey Romero, Tristian Irish, Nick Bailey and Isaiah Remmington.
Overall, the men just missed out on fourth place finishing one point behind North Dakota with 114 points to the 113 of UND.
On the women's side, Katy East recorded the best finish, at a time of 18:09.65. This is the second straight meet that East finished with the best time for the team. Cammy Sargent and Alicia Thompson had the second and third best time for UNC at 18:17.31 and 18:32.22, respectively.
Northern Colorado's women finished comfortably in fifth, 38 points behind Montana and 30 points ahead of North Dakota.
The team's next meet will be in two weeks at the Rocky Mountain Shootout in Boulder, Colorado. The event is hosted by the University of Colorado.
